Timberize Tokyo 2020 - Urban Wooden Construction and the Tokyo of 2020

Spiral
Finished
Wooden architecture has been used as a positive way of contributing to the local economy of timber rich regions, however the way in which to foster the timber industry is not just an issue of a few specific districts but a consideration for the whole country. In particular urban areas have the ability to make further use of these resources and support further local businesses. With the approach of the 2020 Olympics and various new developments set for the capital, we also have the opportunity to consider the importance of natural materials in construction as a new image of the city is set to be born. Here examples of architecture and urban planning using natural timber resources propose a way of the city for the future decades.
