Willem de Kooning
The Dutch born American based artist Willem de Kooning, 1904-1997 is held alongside Jackson Pollock as one of the leaders of action painting, and referred to as one of the founders of Abstract Expressionism. His work cuts between the boundary of the figurative and abstraction, with forceful brush strokes. This exhibition brings together a selection of his work from the Colorado based John and Kimiko Powers Collection, featuring rare works and those yet unseen in Japan.
