Between 1961-1962 the educational series “Japan Discovered” was broadcast on Japanese television introducing the various areas of Japan. Iwanami Productions brought together leading directors of the age to place spotlight on different regions of Japan and mark the rapid development of the country through the lens of sociology. This documentary offers up its eye upon the district of Nara.
