“Abflug 2014— Through the Prism”

3331 Arts Chiyoda
Finished
Meaning “to leave the ground” in German, Abflug is an exhibition of graduation projects by students of Tokyo Zokei University’s seminar led by professor Motai. This year’s show, themed “through the prism,” is presented in Main Gallery B at 3331 Arts Chiyoda for the second year in a row. Art critic Daisuke Kurita will give a talk on the first day of the exhibition.

For the past year, seminar participants Keisuke Katsuki, Frida Kato, Kiyomi Goda, Takuya Hanashima, Chihiro Matsui, and Ayaka Yamada have exchanged ideas and sharpened each other’s skills through discussion and diligent study, raising questions about the current age and the meaning of expression, all while exploring a variety of themes and making works of art. Using the prism as a medium, this autumn they created dazzling experimental works that transform color and transmit light at the outdoor grounds of Nishiwake Shrine as the artistic unit \(slash) for the Ome Art Program. They now share these works at 3331 Arts Chiyoda.
