Ink art has become an important, increasingly diverse genre of contemporary art in recent years because of its market-rooted popularity. This exhibition presents eight sets of ink art from the gallery’s collection, all innovative expressions by artists carrying on in the traditions of literati thinkers, a presence in China since ancient times. Works scheduled for display include those by the Hong Kong graffiti calligrapher King of Kowloon, animations by the young Shanghai artist Xun Sun, and enormous ink impressions by Cai Guo-Qiang.
