Iroha Exhibition

Tokyo Midtown Design Hub
Finished
In Japan, “Iroha” is a familiar way of expressing the standard or steps of doing something like “ABC” in English. “Iroha” comes from the homonymous Japanese poem, probably written in the Middle Ages. It has been interpreted in various ways after that, and nobody can exactly catch its true meaning. It may seem to be just a procedure manual, but its unfathomable depth gives one a key to living in an unpredictable reality. This “Iroha Exhibition” offers visitors the occasion to speculate on this poem and the very Japanese language itself with 10 artists who have dedicated to different fields of creation.
