For Tokyo Sampling, Junichi Matsuzaki rebuilt casette tapes, erasing memories of the past and inputing the new sounds of contemporary Tokyo. A collector of consumer electronics, he used old devices to record the present on analog, preserving it for the future. Each of these art pieces is one of a kind, the antithesis of digital copies of the present.
