Makoto Ueda is renowned for his receipt of the 2003 Architectural Institute of Japan Award, his architectural criticism and editorial work, while also having long taken up his camera to produce photography, with his first solo exhibition taking place in 2010, at an age of over 70 years old. In his second solo exhibition to date he features works such as “Hashima Complex”, “Dojunkai Apartment” and “Shimokitazawa Station”, along with the film “Marunouchi Office District” captured on 8mm film in the 1960s.
