Pierre Paulin
Pierre Paulin is a pioneering French designer who is held as writing a new page in the history of design. With his world famous works such as the “Ribbon Chair” and “Tongue Chair”, over the past 60 years his exquisite forms have come to surround us in our everyday environments, naturally melding with our living spaces.
Where does his sense of form come from? This exhibition examines his the power to imagine beyond the expected, while also providing the opportunity for visitors to test out his furniture and savor first hand his unique style and poetic sensibility. This first solo exhibition in Japan is curated by Eko Sato and includes contributions from architect Ban Shigeru and lighting designer Akari-Lisa Ishii.
