In the Kanto region, the expanse of land which brides between Tokyo and the Tohoku district, postwar reconstruction was sustained by diverse economic developments ranging from agriculture to the manufacturing industry. Here, a focus is brought upon the famous textile industry of Ibaraki and Tochigi, and reconsider both the perpetuation of traditional fabric manufacturing and the development of the modern textile industry.
