The international outsider artist and performer Eijiro Miyama is known for get-ups that defy the question of “why,” from giant hats overflowing with objects, to drawstring purses filled with swimming goldfish that dangle from his ear, to his long hair and beard, and other feminine and perplexing outfits of vivacious vintage clothing. This exhibition looks at the colors and forms of “the Hat Man’s” startling self-expressions.
