Early Imari Ware

Imari Ware is famed as the first porcelain produced for export in the early 17th century in Arita, Saga prefecture. While the early period of this work showed signs of immaturity it simultaneously held the appeal of simplicity. This exhibition features 80 works of early Imari ware along with porcelain fragments excavated from the kiln ruins.

Hours	10:00-17:00 Open 10:00-20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Last Admission 16:30.
Closed	Monday, Tuesday Open on a public holiday but closed on the following day. Closed during the New Year holidays and in between exhibitions.
Notice	Open on May 4th, 5th and 6th. Closed on May 7th.
