Bernd Kuchenbeiser
Bernd Kuchenbeiser is a designer and author born in Heidelberg in 1969. He studied music and communication design in Heidelberg and Stuttgart. Since 1996, he has run his own independent design studio in Munich. As a designer/visual “mediator” who adds cultural value to contents, Kuchenbeiser has done a range of cultural projects large and small, including work for the music label ECM, Lars Müller Publishers, and Goethe Institute, as well as individual projects with artists like Katharina Gaenssler. He has been awarded the “Best German Book Design” prize multiple times.

Kuchenbeiser launched the website “A Good Book (www.agoodbook.de),” on which he presents and discusses books that are outstanding in terms of their contents, design, and tactile quality. “Analog” selections for the website were released in 2014 by Swiss publisher Niggli in “61 Books with Black Type on White Covers.”

This exhibit focuses on books Kuchenbeiser has worked on. In conjunction with this exhibition, Print Gallery has published a newspaper-like booklet entitled “Black White Type Things.”
