A cycle of gramophone concerts is regularly held within the lecture theater Academia of the Intermediatheque. This concert series focuses on the Satoshi Yuze record collection, from which famous jazz recordings from the 1930-1940s have been selected. Here these are played on the illustrious Victrola Credenza gramophone, sharing a quality of sound which has now vanished from public spaces. This gramophone concert will focus on recordings made in the end of the 1930s by the “Big Three” of the boogie-woogie piano: Albert Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis and Pete Johnson.
