Georges Rouault
Georges Rouault was one of the most important French painters of the 20th century. Known for a rich style and mysterious depictions of light, the works of Rouault possess a deep spirituality rooted in his devotion to Catholicism, yet appeal to many people regardless of era, country, or religion. The Idemitsu Collection now presents one of the world’s preeminent Rouault’s exhibitions, displaying 157 paintings astutely portraying human suffering, love, and hope.
