Haruna Nakayama
Spectrum: a continuum, a scope, a range of colors blending into one another and thus creating a phenomenon known all around the world. Spectrum: a broad range of varied but related ideas or objects, the individual features of which tend to overlap so as to form a continuous series or sequence. It represents a flow of ideas, knowledge, and traditions—a flow not constrained by borders, but with the power to break conventions. Haruna Nakayama’s work stretches across the entire palette of artistic expression. Through design, food-art, performance and interaction she creates a unique narrative. Her work is delicate, meticulously planned, but short-lived. But in its very fragile lifespan Nakayama’s art serves as a tool for communication between cultures, between generations, between values and ideas. The art itself is at the end consumed, thus becoming a part of every individual.
