Screenings “Un homme qui dort”

Ginza Maison Hermès
Finished
Taking its title from the work of French novelist Georges Perec, known for such literary experimentalism as writing without the use of the letter “e” etc., this film was awarded the Prix Jean Vigo in 1974 and tells the story of a 25 year old student living in an attic in Paris. Cut off from the outside world he inhabits his own fantasy world, shifting between reality and fiction. Following the original book this work is filmed through the eyes of another character in which the main protagonist does not utter a word and captures the charm of the Parisian streets with its monochrome eye.
