Lixil Gallery’s Future of Creation welcome four leaders of the Japanese art and architecture worlds: art director Toshio Shimizu, metal artist Ryohei Miyata, and architects Toyo Ito and Kengo Kuma. Each directs a three-month exhibition of works concretely visualizing ideas in the present-progressive form according to his own theme. For the sixth Future of Creation, Ryohei Miyata, who brings Japanese metal craft to life in the contemporary age, directs “Living Things,” an exhibition of metal and wood works by six top contemporary sculptors. Part one, which focuses on metal craft, exhibits the work of Ryohei Miyata, Tomomi Maruyama, and Kensaku Aihara. Part two features the wooden sculptures of Takashi Fukai, Yoshimasa Tsuchiya, and Yuta Nakazato.
