To mark its 34th Anniversary of the rehousing of its deity(Shikinen Sengu) the world heritage site of Shimogamo Shrine, Kyoto presents a special exhibition. Every 21 years the shrine is rebuilt to attain spiritual renewal and the deity must be rehoused in the new complex. This exhibition reveals to the public usually unseen works depicting the ceremony and associated ornaments used as part of this, along with other treasures of the shrine.
