Junta Egawa “The Side of the Back of the Back of the Correct Answer”

This event has ended.
Egawa considers that the reliability of human memory is quite uncertain. Therefore the artist is particular about the choice of the present moment, and the result of that. In this exhibition, he presents paintings created by non-plate silkscreen print. Revoking the function of reproduction, the printed image is released. In the accumulation of ink and paint, the artist finds a new value of color, materiality and tactility. In the destruction and reconstruction of the completed image, one finds the repetition of ambiguous memory and recording, lifting up new value through the very process of unnecessary repetition. Through the choice of the moment of production, Egawa returns to the basics of art creation.
