The Wonderland of Beech Forest Zones

Lifestyle Design Center
Finished
Beech tree forests are to be found in East Asia, Northern Europe and Northern America and amongst these East Japan has the biggest natural beech forest where one can still catch a primal sense of the early hunter gatherer culture of the past. Noriko Hayashi and associates behind Pateya and Shoko Kenkyu Kobo have been undertaking field work in East Japan’s beech forests since the 1980s and comparing it to the other beech forests across the world. This forest is an important part of our environment and culture which must be protected and this exhibition unveils the wonderland which exists within this expanse of trees.
