Spread across five areas in the beautiful and rustic town of Nakanojo, Gunma Prefecture, the Nakanojo Biennale aims to create new human connections and revive mountain village culture through contemporary art by inviting artists to live and work in the area. The festival is a valuable opportunity for international exchange, with artists and locals learning about the area’s unique culture and seeing it through fresh eyes together. This year’s Biennale features exhibitions, performances, and other events at some 50 sites.

There will be a bus running between venues on weekends and public holidays. Please see the official website for details on exhibits and events.
