Artists

Yonatan Geron
Yonatan Geron is an artist who has worked across the medium of painting, performance, video and sculpture to confront the complex relations of Israel with surrounding Arab countries with both political and autobiographical interpretations of this condition. In recent years he has utilized discarded images and documents, forgotten and rejected objects to create a confluence of public history and personal memory in an expanded spectrum of meaning. Here he takes the title of the exhibition “Heavy Rotation” from the song title of a popular idol group, proposing complex social issues through pop-like expressions, combining photography, video and collected remnants to touch upon the historical relations between Japan and Israel and humorously call into question the current state of the world.
