Hitomi Watanabe
1968 was a year of great instability around the word, including the prolonged Vietnam War and the suppression of Prague Spring. Japan found itself at the height of student protests, with students sending shock waves across society. Hitomi Watanabe began taking pictures during this tumultuous year. Even after several decades, film from this period has the power to freshly revive memory. Around nine vintage prints and 19 modern prints of photos by Watanabe are on display.
