This event has ended.

Tsuyoshi Ozawa, known for works full of humor and wit, commenting on history and the times in which we live with a supple sensitivity and creativity, here presents his solo exhibition of recent work. Having recently developed work based on the life of Hideyo Noguchi, adding his original interpretations and fictions, under the title of “The Return of Dr. N”, on this occasion, Ozawa takes up the story of Japanese artists who were commissioned to depict the war during Japan’s occupation of Indonesia. Having drawn on research from experts in Japan and Indonesia he explores the role of these artists and the profound shift in values they underwent in the postwar period, whilst contextualizing this within contemporary times and the relations between the two countries set upon the backdrop of this global era.
