This event has ended.
We are well acquainted with shape-shifting spooks (Bakemono in Japanese). They have been a part of our lives since ancient times, taking on and changing into many forms, appearing in annual festivals and ceremonies and in the world of children’s play. Still today they call us into unknown territories within our souls. This exhibition looks at the diverse artistic representations of “Bakemono” created, believed in, and feared by people. Enjoy communing with these spirits that continue to captivate people as much now as long ago.
