For this exhibition, the artworks include monitor displays depicting many colors that continue to flicker on and off 60 times in the matter of one second. This is drawn over by a light, reminding us of oscillating life drawn over by the single trace of humanity. Like planting a flower, these works give us the sense of touching something delicate. All drawn in fluorescent paint, the intensity and freshness of the hues perfectly blend the concepts that exist between “street” and “technology.”

The monitor display shows pixels, each containing 24 bits of color information, with 8 bits (256 gradients) for the three primary colors of light – red, blue, and green – producing a maximum of 16,777,216 colors all at once. The artist also includes a Raspberry Pi, which uses real-time computing to mathematically process and randomize human color perception within a continual circuit at the speed of 60 flickers/second. This encapsulates the entire “human” view of the surrounding world. Expressing everything that is humanly visible forms the duality that distinguishes the invisible. This can relate to Immanuel Kant’s work in Critique of Pure Reason, where light is shed on the possibility of our own existence in gathering the inevitable non-existence of the outside world.
