Artists

Sadamasa Motonaga
First joining the Jiro Yoshihara led Gutai Art Association in 1955 Sadamasa Motonaga took part in a historic movement and went on to experiment in all kinds of expressions, spurned on by Yoshihara’s words. From colored water filled vinyl to straw blown paintings to even techniques of nihonga, Motonaga continued to move from one innovation to the next, emerging as an acclaimed artist of the art informel genre and coming to produce numerous prints and silk screen works from the 1970s onwards which were also steeped in humor, with 30 such works on show here in this exhibition.
