Artists

Maurice Utrillo, Suzanne Valadon
This is an exhibition of works by Maurice Utrillo (1883-1955), a painter of Paris landscapes filled with poetic atmosphere, and his mother, painter Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938). Featuring oil paintings, this exhibition showcases around 40 works by Utrillo and around 40 works by Valadon, including works on display in Japan for the first time and works from private collections. Utrillo’s works, which have acquired great fame in Japan, are introduced here in a form which pin points the relationship with his mother as a key root of his practice.
