Science Courses Begin! “Early Science Education as Seen in the Kyoto University Collection”

LIXIL Gallery 1 & 2
Finished
Japan displayed an avid passion for the study of modern science in the Meiji era. As science teachers grappled with how to explain new knowledge and ideas imported from the West to students, a golden era of science education bloomed. This exhibition introduces lab equipment, specimens, and other items used at the former Third High School, predecessor to Kyoto University.
