In recent years Aki Yamamoto has reconstructed her surfaces through the multiple layering of landscapes, magazine images, window scenes and shadows, at times appearing abstract, at others figurative, resonating between color and form. This exhibition features new works alongside pieces featured in the exhibition Quintet II: Five-star Artists, held at Seiji Togo Memorial Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Museum of Art earlier this year.
