Ito Jakuchu, Yosa Buson
Ito Jakuchu and Yosa Buson, two early modern giants of painting in Japan, were born in the same year, 1716. This exhibition, on the occasion of Jakuchu’s and Buson’s three hundredth birthdays, includes newly discovered work as well as their iconic masterpieces. It also presents work dating from the period when Jakuchu and Buson were in contact with each other.
