Artists

Naoto Kawahara
Naoto Kawahara returns to Taka Ishii Gallery with his first solo show here in 7 years, unveiling a collection of 5 new paintings. Chronostasis refers to a temporal illusion where things may appear to be frozen in time, often occurring as we watch the second hand of an analogue clock. The works presented here draw inspiration from the Meiji painter Bushou Hara(1866-1912) and pursues a bodily presence which responds to and repels the classic atosphere is Hara’s works.
