No Museum, No Life? - Encylopedia to the Art Museums of the Future

The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Thomas Struth, Yasumasa Morimura, Marcel Duchamp, Ryusei Kishida et al.
While art museums showcase exhibition after exhibition of artists’ works they rarely give a spotlight to the spaces of museums themselves. This exhibition intends to shift our perspective to the infrastructure and architecture of the museum and all that goes in to creating the perfect environment in which to view art works, here brought together through an encyclopedia of 36 key words.
This exhibition is also accompanied by the follow up to 2010’s “In Praise of Shadows” which takes over the 5 national art museums of Tokyo displaying key treasures of each museums’ collection in a celebration of global artistic heritage.
