The Nika Association stands out, even among the many art groups whose activities occasioned this museum’s founding. The list of legendary Yoga (Western-style) painters who exhibited in the Nika Association Exhibition includes such names as Ryusei Kishida, Yuzo Saeki, Narashige Koide, Shoji Sekine, Harue Koga, Tsuguharu Fujita, Shunsuke Matsumoto, Taro Okamoto, Seiji Togo—not to mention Henri Matisse and other European masters. Here an exhibition reviews the history of 20th-century Japanese art through 100 years of art from the Nika Association.
