Sayume Tachibana “The Bewitching Beauty of Japan”

Yayoi Museum
Finished

Artists

Sayume Tachibana
Amongst the oeuvre of Sayume Tachibana his early painting work has rarely been exhibited. The reason for this is that in 1923, at the age of 31 the Great Kanto Earthquake struck and many of his works were lost in the fires. However a number of works were fortunately left in his hometown in Akita. This exhibition includes such works amongst a collection of 200 pieces, offering a door into his dream-like world.
