The IMT College launches a new series of talk events confronting the viewpoints of artists with that of university museums. The inaugural talk welcomes French artist Xavier Veilhan to discuss the reality of “Art & Science” in museums and contemporary art, based on a comparison between Veilhan’s creative work and the University Museum’s experimental exhibitions at the Intermediatheque. To what extent do scientific specimens offer an aesthetic resource for creation in contemporary art? In the near future, can science become a major source of inspiration for contemporary art? How do artists active today perceive the Intermediatheque? These interrogations will serve as a point of departure for an interdisciplinary discussion opposing distinct views on this crucial topic.
