Orie Ichihashi
Since 2006 Orie Ichihashi has traveled each year to Hawaii building up the series “Waikiki” which is unveiled to the public for the first time here. While Ichihashi has photographed many areas around the world she claims that Hawaii has a certain charm which cannot be found elsewhere; the touch of the wind, the air, the light, the sense of merging with nature. In the unveiling of these private works we may discern a freedom in her approach to photography while also observing a fine balance of light and composition in a series which may be likened to her self portrait.
