Artists

Hirofumi Isoya, Kenshu Shintsubo
Hagiso, the Yanaka neighborhood’s smallest cultural complex, presents “Sequence,” an exhibition by Hirofumi Isoya and Kenshu Shintsubo. Defining a sequence as “continuity and change in a scene through movement,” these two artists present works exploring the concept in the cases of experience and knowledge. Shitsubo contemplates images and scenes called to mind through physical movement from the perspective of natural sounds captured in photographs, diagrams, and field recordings. Isoya reconsiders the relationship between image and material in sequential events through sculpture and photography.
