Susumu Shimonishi
Susumu Shimonishi first began his epic photography series “I’m On Earth” in 2005 and continues to develop it as a moving image project. Carrying a 5m high monopod he has toured the cities of the world and taken photos of the streets from a bird’s eye view. He in effect takes a self portrait of himself and the people who surround him as he clings to the pole and reflects the diversity of even a single city depending on the time and location of the shoot, allowing a hitherto unseen picture of the world’s urban centers.
