Natsumi Aoyagi
Natsumi Aoyagi has been working on a “meta-documentary” called Hatching Diary since 2011. The series, which began as research into how to find and raise a certain kind of butterfly, records Aoyagi’s trip to Okinawa with her sister. Delving into notions of “hatching,” a word evoking both creation and movement, the footage summons the different realities to be found in records and stories. This exhibition presenting a new installation reconsiders a previous plan to show “Hatching Diary Taiwan” for one day only in November, 2015.
