Shuhei Nishida
Shuhei Nishida has forged new ground in the world of Nihonga painting with his superb skills of portrayal and powerful style. Currently a member of elite Japanese art circles and a professor at Musashino Art University, he is one of the great hopes for the next generation of the Nihon Bijutsuin (Japan Art Institute). This exhibition surveys his more than 40-year career up through his latest works, including his portraits from a government-sponsored residency in India and other masterpieces of contemporary Nihonga.
