Artists

Yuzo Yamashita
The famed Hiroshima-born designer and illustrator Yuzo Yamashita, who created ads and other designs for Kewpie packaging and Muji, passed away in 2008. As a plea for peace, in his late years he was ambitiously active in creating works dealing with themes of war and the atomic bombings. An unreleased picture book of his was recently discovered and published by Harmonica Books. Illustrated in simple colors, it tells an enjoyable story about a pack of frisky kittens.
