Yusuke Asai “This Book”

NADiff a/p/a/r/t
Finished

Artists

Yusuke Asai
Yusuke Asai uses a variety of diverse materials in his artworks created in both indoor and outdoor settings. He collects soil and water from sites to create “mud paintings” on interior gallery walls, which he then adds masking tape to in order to create “masking plants” that he draws and paints on top of. Asai also makes use of sheets of heat-applied thermoplastic material normally utilized for white road markings to create extensive leafy motifs in outdoor settings.

This exhibition at NADiff Gallery will present new work created in conjunction with the release of a collection featuring Asai’s latest work, published earlier this winter. Focusing on the physicality of the “book,” printed matter has been used as a material in the creation of this artwork. You will also be able to see one of Asai’s wall murals in the NADiff a/p/a/r/t shop for the duration of the exhibition.
