Beatrix Potter
The world of Peter Rabbit keeps enchanting people from around the world. In 2016, it will be the 150th anniversary of author Beatrix Potter’s birth. Beatrix spent her childhood in the Lake District in England, which she loved and throughout her life she devoted herself to activities to preserve the district’s beautiful landscape. This exhibition offers a rare opportunity where the original picture book prints, sketches and personal items of Beatrix that belong to the UK’s National Trust—most of which to this day have never been introduced to the general public—will be exhibited. Focusing on the life of Beatrix as a woman who shaped a new era, the exhibition will also shed light upon the origins of Peter Rabbit, and Beatrix’s world of picture book series.
