Artists

Orie Inoue
Cognizant of a slight feeling of discord toward daily life packed with communications and social structures as a “modern person,” Orie Inoue uses nature as a main element in works incorporating entire spaces to express the existence of nature, living things, and their vital powers. Inoue is attracted to random encounters in the day-to-day, weeds and grasses that break up asphalt, plants overgrowing abandoned houses, and other examples of beautiful and sublime nature that simply exists without drawing much attention to itself. Her work is fueled by a desire to bring these subjects to the attention of people surrounded by the artificial. Through keen powers of observation toward nature, in “Phenomenes” Inoue creates installations and other works presenting “phenomena in the corners of the natural world.” Come experience a heightened sense of awareness called up by these encounter with nature.
