Among the body of Ando’s work, this exhibition focuses especially on seven representative architecture projects in Japan, including the “Church of the Light,” the “Row House in Sumiyoshi” and the “Naoshima Art House Project.” On display are photographs of these buildings taken by Ando himself, as well as drawings that document their conceptual development, and in addition, 1:20 and 1:10 scaled models respectively of the “Church of the Light” and “Row House in Sumiyoshi,” made by the same reinforced concrete construction method as the actual buildings.
