Aoyama Meguro presents “Akzidenz” by Sprout Curation, featuring the work of three artists born in the 1980s: Shunsuke Kano, Keisuke Tada, and Noriaki Hattori.

The speculative realism of French philosopher Quentin Meillassoux refutes the correlationism of Kant’s ideas, arguing instead that the world is full of contingencies. It also distances itself from naïve realism, establishing a substantial mode of thought in line with the new materialism advocated by the U.S. philosopher Graham Harman. Taking its title from the German word for “contingencies,” this exhibit aims to touch upon perceptions of the world as a place full of them.
