Manga artist Ryoko Yamagishi debuted in 1969. In works such as the major hits “Arabesque” and “Hi Izuru Tokoro no Tenshi,” she delights readers with skillful psychological portrayals and compelling scenes. “Terpsichora – The Dancing Girl” received the 2007 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and “Revelation,” currently serialized by the publisher Morning, is attracting passionate fans. For the 45th anniversary of the enduring masterpiece “Arabesque,” the Yayoi Museum presents a comprehensive exhibition of Yamagishi’s works, displaying some 200 original illustrations spanning her career from its outset to her latest manga “Metamorphose.”
