Munemaro Ishiguro
The first member of the ceramics world to be recognized as a living national treasure, Munemaro Ishiguro(1893-1968), studies ceramics across China, Japan, Korea and the Middle East, building up his own unique style of expression. In 1995 as the system of recognition of living national treasure was implemented Ishiguro was one of the first to be awarded such a title. This exhibition showcases approx. 130 ceramic pieces, alongside 30 calligraphic works bearing full witness to his masterly skill and original eye towards creation.
